Cutting Inlets
When cutting holes to install fittings or pipe into a Rhino HDPE manhole base, allowance
must be made for the following:
1. When setting the grade of the pipe or fitting, be sure to maintain a good
flowline that is consistent with the channel in the manhole base.
2. Allow for the thickness of the (see below table) gasket. Gasket thickness is determined by pipe diameter: The larger the pipe, the thicker the gasket.
3. The finished hole should be smooth and free of burrs or shavings on the plastic before
installation of the gasket. In most cases, a lubricant will be required for successful
installation.
