Rhino USA of Oregon Customer Referral Letter
Bandon Concrete and Development Co.
Bandon Concrete and Development has used the 48 inch diameter Rhino HDPE manhole for the past 6 years.
During that period we have installed over 80 of the Rhino manholes. The depths have been from less than 6 feet to over 20 feet in traffic and non-traffic areas. The Rhino manhole has always performed exceptionally well in all applications. Due to the design of the Rhino manhole there has never been a floatation issue even in extremely high ground water, which will be encountered in some installations.
The ease of installation and not having to go back in the manhole for resealing, which often occurs with concrete, has reflected a savings of 30 to 35 percent in labor and equipment cost versus installing a pre-cast concrete manhole.
The Rhino manholes have always passed both hydrostatic and vacuum testing and we have had no maintenance issues on any of the manholes since Bandon Concrete started installing them 6 years ago.
When design changes have required the addition of new laterals, we have benefited from the ease of field installing the new fittings. Excluding the excavation time, the installation of the new lateral on the Rhino Manhole can be completed in less than an hour at any of the five standard inlet positions. This is much more efficient than cutting a new inlet into most concrete bases and a major cost saving.
The safety of workers in the trench is always a consideration. The light weight of the Rhino manhole not only creates a safer work environment but also allows for two workers to quickly align the manhole into its proper specified position. It is also very easy for workers to place the individual components and their seals, as the manhole is brought to rim elevation.
I strongly recommend the Rhino Manhole for any installation where maintenance free long life, cost savings, worker safety and ease of installation are considerations.
